Teeth Care

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Toothpick is a very useful tool to remove the stuck food particles between the teeth. Teeth are placed in a row with their convex surfaces touching and any food that chewed gets deflected away from the biting surface. Due to old age, the gums start receding and losing its configuration resulting in food accumulation problem. Thus, tooth pick is needed to remove the food particles. The most common cause is cavity between two teeth. Gum disease occurs because of bacteria collection between the gum and tooth known as periodontal pocket. The teeth drift apart and the gap widens. When food starts accumulating, bacterial activity becomes intense and the fibres that hold tooth break down resulting bleeding. If tooth decay not treated by a Dentist, it could endanger the nerve of the tooth causing severe tooth-ache. The bacteria accumulated and affect heart valves, joints and skin problems. The solution for all these things, to have regular dental check up to ensure that there are no cavities, gaps and food traps. Small cavity can be corrected bt filling. Larger gaps can be filled and crowned. Gaps can also be corrected by orthodontic braces. Food trapped can cause rancid odour. Regular brushing after eating, use of floss and internal brush will ensure healthy teeth that will last long. Remember, when tooth pick is needed, there is a need for a dentist.

INTRODUCTION TO LEATHER

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Leather as a material for footwear and clothing was known to early man. In fact, before the onset of textile technology, man knew how to make use of hides and skins, not well tanned as clothing and footwear. But, we have now come a long way. Thanks to significant technological changes, leather has now attained the status of an important commodity in world markets. The general impression that leather is mostly used for footwear is old fashioned. Today, leather is made use of a variety of consumer goods which people all over the world would like to buy, preserve and maintain as important materials for good living. Goods made out of leather are not only utilitarian but also fashionable. International Leather Fairs held in different parts of the world devote large amounts of time and resources to incorporate fashions into multifarious uses of leather. Therefore, nations involved in leather making would like to move on to production of leather products and value added material from leather to sustain their positions in this competitive sector. It is, therefore, very important to take a place as a global partner in the International Leather Product Markets.

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Iron deficiency causes anaemia. About 20% of women, 50% of pregnant woman and 3% of men suffers from anemia.  Iron is present in all cells of the body and plays important role in improving the quality of blood assists in the formation of haemoglobin and increases resistance to stress and disease. Common cause of anemia is inadequate consumption of iron rich food, blood loss due to injury or disease.  Other causes are low consumption of iron rich foods, excessive dieting, increased loss due to menstruation and increased demand for pregnant women for breast feeding. Iron rich food is necessary for energy production, enzymes, growth, and oxygenation of red blood cells and production of haemoglobin.  The requirement iron for women daily is 18 mg. And men is 8 mg. Generally anemia is treated for low percentage of haemoglobin level in the body – range men 1.5 to 18 and women 11.5 to 16.4 Normally, pregnant women, infants, children and athletics require increased level of iron. Vitamin A can help to treat iron deficiency storing iron in the liver, exercise may increase iron needs, eating iron rich foods, consuming cereals, green vegetables, etc. Vitamin C also helps to assimilate iron and can increase absorption of iron. Aheme iron sources are:  pork liver, meat, fish, chicken etc. And non-hemiiron sources are: leafy greens, broccoli, legumes, fortified cereals, raisins, apricots, water melon, etc.

Too soon a Noble?!

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

A man whose name wasnt even heard in the political arena 3 yrs ago, fights a election, wins not just votes but hearts too and becomes the most powerful person on earth- first Afro-American President of the USA !

And Lo , less than a year in office without any major deal accomplished yet, is sworn in as Nobel Peace Laureate for remarkable contribution in the field of international diplomacy! Now isn’t that a dream run? No wonder the man himself accepted that it was surprise news!!!

I recalled a saying which seems most appropriate to Barack Obama’s amazing journey….”Some people are born great; some become great; and for some greatness is literally THRUST on them”! HOW TRUE! Mr.Obama :)

Nevertheless all we can say is Congrats and all the best Mr.President.

Battle Hangover with ease!!!

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Be it guys or gals if they are over drunk then the next day is sure to be a hell. It is nothing but hangover that kills us. You will have a bad stomach, chronic head pain, prickling pain, mild dizziness and much more experiences.

But not to worry as I have a few tips to get rid of hangover.

1) Avoid Coffee as it will create more trouble will add fuel to the condition. It helps you in no way.

2) Water is the best medicine. Have lots of water as it will hydrate your system. Lemon water is also a   good idea.  The dehydrated system due to alcohol would start hydrating.

3) Juices are good sources of vitamin C and especially tomato and orange would give a timely relief.

4) Honey is also a good source of fructose and greatly helps in treating hangover.

5) Have some bananas and see the miracle.

Even I used to drink a lot during parties but I do not drink on a empty stomach. Instead I would have some thing to eat before drinking. And a good suggestion is drink slowly to enjoy the nuances of drinking.
